Learn Aviation and get CPL License through Distance Learning!!

While driving around town, noticed this sign posted on a supposed institute...stopped my car, had a hearty laugh and then decided to click this one for my records...

You now have a chance to learn Aviation through Distance Learning. You can get a CPL or a PPL license just sitting at home...the sign board speaks for itself.

I was hard pressed for time and hence decided to move on. One of these days, I am going to return to this place and will find out what the deal is all about. Even I am interested in getting a flying license for myself. Whar the heck!!

It happens only in India..!!

Clicked some pics today at work (well...when I went down to have food), found them interesting and thought to post them here.

God is everywhere...

And literally it seems. Such is the faith in the Supreme Being that we want Him to be present everywhere...even if the suitable place seems to be blower of a split air conditioning system. What matters is His presence...

Plug it in...

You call this the 'Optimum Utilization of Available Resources'...whatever is available at your disposal, you make full use of it. Look at the power plug at the back of the couple folks who are selling juice...the poor thing does not even have a single slot that is left 'untapped'. And all sorts of electrical appliances are connected to it, namely...

Radio,
Speakers,
Juicer,
Lights,
Fans,

If you want to know the real meaning of best utilization of available resources, comes to India.

Cool Earth!

So the countdown for G8 summit has begun and we have less than 24 hours before the meeting of world's richest nation starts. I am proud to see India participating (it also did participate in the G8 summit held in London) in the Italy L'Aquila G8. This shows how seriously world has started taking note of India as an emerging economy and a strong country who can make / support decisions that affect the world. The top agenda for this G8 will be climate change, food security and most obvious...global financial crisis.

Climate change is becoming a serious issue now...even the G8 have started discussing it. It's high time everyone realizes that we are living on a planet which is alive and knows how to balance it's eco-system. For years, humans have been responsible for messing with the nature (by increasing pollution, cutting down trees, using chemicals etc.) and testing earth's patience. We have not for once looked back in time and reviewed earth's history. She is far more capable of destroying everything than us humans and is notorious for starting everything from scratch. It's about time now that she looses her patience over the continued destruction and start doing something about it...eliminate the cause for this destruction...destroy the human race. And while doing this, she may also destroy every living organism on her surface. Our greed is going to take it's toll...

Everyone is looking forward to the decisions that will be made in G8...the targets that will be set for each country and eventually for the world. It's on the agenda that the target will be 50% reduction in green house gases by every country with rich nations contributing to 80% reduction by 2050....if we wish to live any further.

I will direct this post particularly from view point of India. India is in the process of becoming one of the biggest economies and is in full swing of development. This G8 will be of special importance and the targets will decide our way to go. It is certain (considering the available resources of development that the world has got) that no fast paced development can happen without some footprint on the eco-system. India being in the midst of it's development stage is going to increase it's carbon foot print over the period of years. It is in the interest of India not to agree to targets set of the rich countries for 2050 or it will be a severe blow for economic development.

But we have to be conscious about the fact that we do not have much time left on Earth if we continue at this pace. We cannot buy economic development on the cost of our children's lives. And we must come forth with a realistic target which should be achievable by 2050 as well as it should sustain economic development. India should ensure that all other countries support this in G8 and are willing to take some burden on themselves. Countries who have developed have already destroyed the eco-system and they can simply get away from it.

This link shows list of countries by 2004 emissions and top three contributors with biggest carbon footprint are USA(22.2%), China(18.4%) and European Union(14.7%). India contributes 4.9%. It is high time that the top three countries realizes that they have had their take on eco-system and now it's time to stop. Fixing a mere target is of now use unless it is achievable (reduction of 80% greenhouse gases by 2050 seems unrealistic).

India should bargain its way in G8 and ensure a reasonable and achievable target is fixed for herself. Govt. should take the set targets on priority and run a mass campaign to educate each and every individual to contribute towards achieving the set target. Every small effort count and Earth is going to only thank us for our efforts. Plus we will have some more years to live on this beautiful planet.

Let's contribute to make Earth 'Cool'.

Bangalored!

Bangalored (adj.) is a term that has recently been added to the dictionary owing to its increased usage as a term in normal spoken English. And in case you are wondering as to what this new word means…here’s a link that will explain the word in it’s raw form.

The term coined by ‘anonymous’ and popularized by almost everyone in America who have some kind of hidden interest or visible loss behind using this word. Of late, this word was on the list of “top 10 most used words” by Mr. Barack Obama. Obama has such a fetish for this word that it almost always jumps out of his mouth everytime he is speaking in public and explaining what is America going to do about the current economic crisis.

Now of all the problems that led the world to the biggest recession of our lifetime, Obama has found Bangalored to be one of the top reasons. So much that it was on his top priority and featured in his election manifesto. And you can’t discount, this word alone had such a power that it rocketed Mr. Obama to the level of being President of the USA.

It is on the to-do list of Mr. Obama to ensure he pulls America out of global recession and puts it back on track to being an economic superpower. The other items in the list includes: (1)War on Terrorism a.k.a War on Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, India, (2)help Pakistan get rid of poverty so that they could produce more efficient jehadis…I mean…terrorists…sorry freedom fighters…whatever! How else can you explain the stimulus of billions of dollars of American tax payer’s money to Pakistan and hoping it will eliminate terrorists and counter terrorism which is the only source of its economy. Alas, Pakistan does not have any terrorists…all they have are Jehadis….freedom fighters….God knows who they want to be free from…their wretched lives itself it seems!!

Coming back to Obama’s to do list…wait a minute…I can blog about it later. I will focus myself on Bangalored!!

Recently Mr. Obama reversed the tax rules that provided incentives to companies who Bangalored their ‘monotonous mundane mediocre’ jobs by ensuring they now pay more taxes for Bangaloring. The new mantra being “Say No to Bangalore and Yes to Buffalo”. Mr. Obama is hoping that such a change in the law would act as a deterrent and more companies will start thinking thrice before deciding to “Bangalore” its jobs.

To quote Mr. Obama:

“We will stop letting American companies that create jobs overseas take deductions on their expenses when they do not pay any American taxes on their profits. We will use the savings to give tax cuts to companies that are investing in research and development here at home so that we can jump start job creation, foster innovation, and enhance America's competitiveness. The way we make our businesses competitive is not to reward American companies operating overseas with a roughly 2 per cent tax rate on foreign profits; a rate that costs taxpayers tens of billions of dollars a year. But the way to make sure that happens is not to reward our companies for moving jobs off our shores or transferring profits to overseas tax havens. For years, we've talked about stopping Americans from illegally hiding their money overseas, and getting tough with the financial institutions that let them get away with it”

Well done Mr. Obama…you’re definitely on the right track. If such a law won’t stop companies from Bangaloring the jobs, America can at least boast of more income by way of taxes…these poor companies won’t have much option but to pay more taxes. At least this will still be better than doing Bangaloring in reverse and suffering huge losses. This recession took top three financial companies to hell…such reverse Bangaloring will take down God knows how many financially and strategically efficient organizations to hell. Did these companies had any other priority rather than making profit when they decided to Bangalore the jobs?? Mr. Obama to answer….

Not so "Shiney"

June 14 turned out to be a very unlucky day for the actor turned 'rapist' Shiney Ahuja. Early morning saw Shiney waking up with a devilish desire and walking up to his maid with evil intentions. Little did she realise that this morning won't be like any other morning and her life would change for ever. And everyone knows what happened...the details about his actions has been in news ever since.

As the days have progressed, we have seen a denying Shiney who said he is being accused and framed and he did no such thing...turn to a consenting Shiney who says yes he did have outraged the modesty of his maid but it was all consensual. Now this is something which cannot be proved from forensic or scientific evidence. Unfortunately…

What about Anupam Mahajan who have fiercely defended her husband until now. She has been supporting her husband all along…even to the extent of saying that ‘it’s her husband who has been raped’. I wonder what would her reaction to today’s news would be when Shiney has agreed to having sex with his maid and said it was all mutual.

Now until the case is proved we can’t comment much about it and just that this is not so ‘Shiney’ chapter in the life of Shiney Ahuja. We never would be able to go back in time and see what happened in the morning of July 14th. Was it really the shy and introvert Shiney who lost it all out and pounced on a poor lady or there is another angle to the whole sad story. Only time will tell…

The Living Goddess

India has always been inhibited by Gods and Goddesses since time immemorial. We can boast of some 65 million Gods and Goddesses. There is always a God or a Goddess who can help us Indians out in time of need. We just need to look up, fold our hands and ask for it...lo and behold, the wish would come true and our trust in the unseen and unknown grows an inch further.

It has always been predicted by our Vedas and ancient books that we will see the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu in this Kaliyug who would reincarnate himself for the sole purpose of destroying evil and ensuring that good wins over the bad.

Now this comment is not about Lord Vishnu nor I am eager to see him taking birth here (specially in India)...but this is about someone we all thought of just as a teacher turned politician who was kind of expert in caste politics. We never could have imagined in our wildest dreams that the one who we casually ignored will be a 'LIVING GODDESS'.

And if you're still scratching your head as to who this will be...she is none other than our very own Mayawati (Madam a.k.a Behenji). And how come I can call her a "Living Goddess'...my friend...it's not me, but the Goddess herself is going around informing everyone that she is the Living Goddess....'Zinda Devi'.

Our Zinda Devi has faithfully followed her mentor's (Kanshi Ram's) last wishes and constructed memorials of him all in and around Lucknow and UP. Okay, you can go about spending hundreds of crores of tax payers money to pay tribute to a politician who may be your mentor...but why is the need to erect your own statues made from precious stones and bronze. In reply, we got a two worder..."it's all because I'm 'Zinda Devi'..." "People will want to worship me two hundred years from now, so I am constructing my own statues now so that they don't have any problems later"

Such a long sightedness can only be true of a Goddess...

Sigh! There's goes my 30% Income Tax money down the drain...

Welcome Back!

This is a welcome note to myself...welcoming myself back into the blogging world. I used to do some serious blogging sometime back, even started my own dedicated website for the purpose. Then...not sure when and how, I dropped the habit of writing. But here I am...back again! Hope to continue this for long now...
